Another well-designed app from Google.

So Id i try to ask my google home a question it says “Actually there are some basic settings that need your permission first” so I go into the app and it says “allow google home to help you” and there is a Allow button but I cannot press the allow button so now I’m unable to use my google home! Please fix this!!

Forget about Alexa, apple home kit does even come close! If you are looking for the best home integration out there, this should be your first and only stop. My whole house is controlled seamlessly.

The app over all is great but I wish they would fine tone it. I would like so many options that you couldn’t do it all at once and that some you would think are useless until you realize that would come in handy for example I wish it could manually set up relations so it would know brothers sisters sons daughters and so on.

My google mini is so helpful and accurate, and evsn has games where you can take care of an animal. It has cool stories and joke. It can set alarms and play music and any song you want. I usually play rain sounds to go to sleep. It is just really amazing!!!

This app is an example of why I consistently revert to Apple products. I invested in a few google home and chromecast products while waiting for the HomePod to come out. The app consistently loses the ability to control the individual speakers in a Home Group configuration, leaving me to adjust every speaker manually. The grouping feature is nice, unless you want to say “downstairs speakers”- that needs to be another group. Another thing is it takes a long time to load the speaker interface, and that’s using a 3 unit google WiFi system in a 1500sf home- not a signal issue. Half baked product that lacks the polish and “just works” quality of any apple (or Sonos!) product.

Never used to need an account, now it’s required to setup a chromecast. Recommending firestick or roku to friends from now on, used to be chromecast.

I am having a hard time with mini recognizing my contacts. Is there something I can do.

I have been using the app with services for Chromecast, and the app is a piece of garbage and Google support is worse in addressing this issue that has been ongoing for over a year. If you want to change to a different station, or switch what is streaming: 9 times out of 10 you will have to restart the app and use Google Home to stop casting. Even then you may have to do it twice. I have done feedback to no avail. It would be nice if there was a third party app as this one does not do the job. In addition, you have to put up with advertising in the app. I have three Chromecast devices in the house, when I go in the app to see the status or stop casting (see above as why you will have to constantly stop casting) there will be adds for stations.

Great sound - Better sound than HomePod. But Google Home Max is buggy. Inconsistent connections, drop outs - very frustrating. Sometimes I have to use my Amazon Echo Show for playback when the Home Max drops out or won’t connect. I wish there were a greater commitment to quality on the software side. The hardware is great.

App is incredibly slow on 2.4 WiFi which was frustrating.

Streaming music from Spotify directly doesnt work even when you have a premium Spotify account I think Google wants you to pay for their music service. I called tech support but they gave me a BS answer.

Love my google home, think it should take more than one light request at a time. ( I.e turn on light to 30% brightness) always messing that up. And the app itself is absolutely horrible to navigate with options all over the map. Luckily after looking through it (hours) you can find the good in it, all the wonderful functions.

This revenue-sharing decision of Googles to force me to use Google Express will ultimately kill me as a user.

I use this with a first generation chrome cast. No matter what I cast it disconnects or freezes. Not the router because casting to my Roku works fine.

Does not work well with iPhone. Half the time it won’t register that I’m using Netflix and therefore I can’t control it.

I like the app I have chrome cast but is there a way you guys can install that feature where you cast the iPhones screen to the tv? Android phones are able to do it but not for iPhones.
