Garbage

Legit never works

Landfill

I got this as a gift. Would never have bought it myself. It only works about 10% of the time. The other 90%, it reply’s “there are some basic settings that need your permission first”...I’ve reset everything 10 times, I’ve done a factory reset, reset my voice, all channels and all settings and it still says the same thing. When it does work, it seldom plays what I ask it to. Ask for BBC News & I get BBC1. Ask for NPR and get a local music station. So frustrating.

Google home

I must say it is nice to have but when you ask some really good questions it doesn’t recognize the question that you’re asking .the makers need to download more material inside these Google home A lot faster. they become more confusing day by day as you go along. I am a Apple person and heard Apple has something new out , with Siri. Well we can only cross our fingers for all these new toys that we are introduced to and hope for the better. I like that you can be more modernized. Technology is great. But they need to Update it a lot faster. And no I don’t want to hear a riddle. Thank you. MichaelT

Good but have some respectful criticism

This app is very good but I wish I could pick whatever song and not have to pay for youtube red

My music library

Google states we can request individual tracks we own and have uploaded to google play. This is false and misleading. Google is well aware of this issue but still advertises this supposed capability.

Philips Hue - NOT

After a few days, with everything working correctly, I added two more Philips Hues light bulbs to my home. The Google Home app would not add them to the device list. After dealing with Google tech support for over an hour, the problem got worse. Now the Google Home app will only connect to a generation 1 Chromecast and two Google Home Minis. It now fails to connect to any other device.

Love

Have had this app for over a year and i love how i can have a slide show on my tv when I’m not using my tv !! It’s pretty awesome

Extremely Slow

When connected to WiFi the app is extremely slow. So slow that it’s unusable. Of course I don’t want to turn off wifi when I’m home so pretty pointless.

Bad

Had about 4 speakers hooked up... they quit connecting to Wifi, the google home app won’t even find the WiFi to reconnect them on the tablet. So I decided to download google home on my iPhone.. Funny thing is it shows I have downloaded the app on my phone and I never have before.. weird.. then when I press update it won’t let me download... This app is truly the worst.. On android and Apple... I want my money back since google is playing like this...

LOL paranoid reviewer

Google home arrived at the party later than Alexa. Sure, Alexa got there at 8 PM, but everyone knows that you don’t even get ready to go out until 10 PM because it’s just getting started. Google has the AI that everyone else wishes they had and this is their niche unlike Amazon-which I have no bone to pick with-which is pitching out of their league when to comes to software AND hardware. My only gripe is not yet able to change the ‘Hey Google’ command on each device. Now, about my review title, what a shameless effort by either a competitor-or more attempts by Russia to hack our brains. OMG, this thing could record my five-year-old and I had to take it back; it’s the devils work. Too funny. I’m not worried about Google and the home devices. That’s like screaming fire when everyone has already been evacuated. I’m more worried about The FBI, foreign hackers, and other unscrupulous government agencies, not just ours, who could’ve been listening to us for quite some time through our laptops, televisions, phone, etc. or basically anything Wi-Fi-enabled with microphone. Even Mark Zuckerberg-in quite a viewed photo- has tape over his laptops camera. So let’s see, the CEO of Facebook, where clueless people post their every move an idea, is paranoid about others spying on him and using his personal information for some gain. Yeah, let’s get worried about the one microphone we know could be listening-which would be moronically stupid-and ignore all the ones we take for granted

Constantly breaks down!

I’m constantly having problems with this. It stops playing, stops connecting, constantly asking me to reconnect my device. Don’t waste your money or time with this mess.

Google chrome

This google chrome is okay! The biggest headache I get is that from time to time I get a message saying my chrome is not detected and I have to do the process over and over. Very annoying for me. Other than that when it’s connected again its awesome!

Good

Google home is good but you can not cast services like sound cloud or iTunes especially when you have songs that arent on services like Spotify. But still it is pretty good.

Something went wrong try again!

I get this error message over and over when trying to add my lights to a group. I am back to using Siri for my home automation.

Something went wrong, try again

If you like reading “something went wrong, try again” over and over, this is the app for you. Not sure why but Google Home has been terribly buggy as of late. If you are looking for home automation Alexa may be the way to go. I really hope they improve fast as I am beginning to regret going down the google path.

Something went wrong. Try again

Horrible! Can’t do anything with this app and hardware! Trying to connect my smart home devices and assign a room. Can’t do any of it! Keep getting an error that says “Something went wrong. Try again”. I’ve tried Amazon Alexa, Apple HomePod and this google home, and by far google home is the worst! Since I am unable to set anything up (I am very technical) all I have is a $120 paperweight! Do yourself a favor, skip this app and hardware and go with Amazon Alexa or Apple HomePod. At least they work!!

Chromecast

Google home

Just publicity

Not friendly. Difficult to use and to understand.

Great product with a mild app

This app is usually great. I absolutely love my Google home, but especially right now, the app is very buggy. I have 2 Google home minis and one Google home that I link together for a sound system for my bedroom. I love it. The only problem is the app stopped letting me individually adjust the volume of the speakers while theyre playing music. Its not a huge deal, but there are also the occasional connection issues. Overall, these problems dont occur too often or for too long, but it is definitely a crucial part of my expertise with these Google products, and Ive been slightly disappointed as of late. Im not advocating against this product, but just keep in mind that the app could absolutely be better at working intuitively with Google home.

Flakey

Still a lot of bugs to work out, especially with Spotify, which still seems to be one of the only apps it integrates with
