Continually frustrating

Continually disconnects.

No very smart

The google Home speaker gives more non-answers than answers, though it does apologize for not knowing. I moved it from one room to another and now it gives the weather for a different city. And, don’t think this is easy to change. I can’t even find that info in the app. Not impressed with this app or the device.

The best!

The best app ever. I’m enjoying much!

Google play

Google trial of 90 days only later 30 days. Not good and a money grab in the works? I hope not

Extremely efficient and interactive

Extremely efficient and interactive. The only thing amazon has going for it is Prime. Google home is much more "intelligent "

Ads on top of ads

I already pay $40 a month for YouTube tv and have to watch normal tv commercials, but now I have to watch additional ads imbedded in YouTube tv. F that.

Bugs

It keep disconnecting

Not easy to set up

Connectivity instruction are needed, especially in explaining how to reconnect and change to a new network. Very frustrating.

WiFi connection

It’s been 2 weeks since I have been able to sync my iPhone 6 to my google home. I’ve done all the steps listed. Is anyone else having this problem?

Confusing app

I’m being generous giving it 3 stars. You get this app only if you also have google devices to control in your home. As this is Google’s big entry into your home, and out of the sphere of your computer/ phone/ tablet, you would think they would spend more time making it easy to setup and use. I know I’ve become familiar with the ease of use and setup with Apple products, but rarely have I ever had so much difficulty like I have experienced with this app, trying to do the simplest of functions. The app is confusing to use, with the main difficulty coming from the difficultly in adding services. The process of going into the app, and then going through cards to add other apps is frustrating. There is no easy search option, which is a glaring omission from google. The process could easily be simplified, but instead they bury everything in a confusing string of menus. Why not a simple option, connect services, and then an alphabetical list, with the ability to search? The lack of supported services is also frustrating, but I’m not holding it against them just yet, as their entry into this realm is still relatively new, and they appear to be adding more services, although not as quickly as I would like. The app is pretty stable, although it has crashed once on me. I got the app to go with my Google Home mini, chromecast, nest thermostat and cameras. After avoiding Google products for a while, after doing some serious research I decided to give them a try. Using the Google Home mini has worked pretty well, and I don’t have to go into the app too often, but when I do, I find it very frustrating to do what should be a relatively easy task. I really like what they have done with nest. Great, easy to use app, and probably the best designed products in their categories. I can overlook the lack of HomeKit support because everything is so far superior to the competition. I liked the idea of the Amazon echo, but the design of their devices (all of them) could not be overlooked. When google came out with the home mini, I thought the price was right even with adding a chromecast, that I would forgo my reservations of sending all my data to Google. Setting up the chromecast and the home Mini were easy enough. It did take the chromecast over 2 hrs to update over 300 Mbps internet 5 feet away from my 802.11 ac router, but once it finished it was straight forward enough. Getting the Home mini setup was also reasonably easy. Once it came to the Google Home app it became a little frustrating. Adding my nest devices was more difficult than it should have been, and connecting Netflix seemed much more involved than it needed to be. I would like to see Google solve these issues, and add support for Hulu, HBO Go, Tidal, and Showtime. Also when you add support for a service, you can easily have a message display at the top of the app the first time it is opened saying we have added support for the following services. Would you like to connect to any of them now? This would make it easy for users to add newly supported services, and also assures users that google is adding support for more services, and also allows you to see other services you may want to subscribe to.

Has potential

Great hardware in general, works fairly well with smart home. Unfortunately the google home app sucks still and the related software is weak. It has been slowly improving but they are taking too long to sort it out.

Genial

Maravillosa

Wifi issues with setup

Repeated frustration each time I set up a new device (Home, Home Mini, Chromecast Audio). Support literature is not up to date with new products. Sound of Home devices is okay, at best.

Older iPhones need not Apply

My iPhone runs ios8. Now I cant use Google Home. When I open the version on my phone it has a "new version available, update now" pop up. Newer might be better, but it shouldnt lock out the older version.

Impossible to set up

I’ve been trying to set up my google home for the past week and the WiFi isn’t working!! Very annoying

Not sure what this app is useful for

Disappointing app offers no real value, which is a strange experience to have with a Google product. The Google Home products themselves are great, but lots of confusing misses with this app. Oddly, theres no way to adjust the volume of the devices on the app, which is frustrating especially if the music is playing so loud that it cant hear your "ok Google" cue. Really though, its just an overall poor interface experience. Lots of arbitrary cards without any clear way to navigate in the app. Maybe thats because theres nothing to navigate to? Assumedly its a work in progress.

Please fix this

This is the glitchiest thing I have ever seen. If I had known it was going to be this bad I would’ve went with the Amazon Echo

No More Mirroring

I typically mirror from my Iphone to my Chromecast to watch Amazon Prime Video since it does not have a casting icon, and now I don’t even have the option to do that. I am very disappointed that thay have removed the ability to do so.

Does not work

Frustrating.
