Google Home App Reviews

Great potential. Weak execution

We received our Home unit as a Christmas gift. We have used it for 5 months. There are a few things we have found we can use it for consistently. However it is mostly telling us "I havent learned that yet" or phrases like that. I got very little use out of it until I found the IFFT apps which have helped. Google has a lot of improvement to do with the software before this thing is one I could recommend. I am sure they have the ability to do that, but Im not sure about their motivation. What functions it can perform you must get the command verbiage exactly as it expects or she doesnt have a clue. I suspect I will get the "A" unit as I have tried it and it is much closer to a useful device.

Just quit!

After using this app/device combo for two years, it just stops. Quite working. I suppose Ill get gouged by Google because the NEW app doesnt work with the OLD device. Thanks Google for screwing us over again! Oh BTW, what does using Bluetooth have to do with setting up a WiFi device?

Pretty Smart

Like the quick thinking

Return Your Google Home Immediately!

Setup stinks! Unusable without a smart phone. Downloaded the app on to an IPad. No instructions on what to do from that point! Disappointed! Amazon version is much superior!

Huge waste of money!

I really wanted to like the product. I returned my 1st one within a week, thinking it was defective. Seems that its just a substandard product. Cant wait to see the Apple version!

Wish we could screencast

It runs great but I wish I could screencast my device like in the Android version

Connection issues

The app is pretty fair and comparable to all the other ones out there. The biggest problem I find is the connection issues. My fire stick and Roku stay connected with no problem but I have to reconnect my Chromecast every time I use it.

AMAZING

The google home is actually amazing and I find it so useful. It can practically read my mind, if I need to run out in a hurry I can just pause the music with my voice. I can find my lost phone with it too. A huge bonus is it has games for kids too. It has games like trivia, mad libs, and even a dictionary for when I have homework. I love the google home.

Surprised how useful it is

We used to use or Roku for everything, but its much easier to find things on your phone or laptop and cast it to the TV. One downside, doesnt support Amazon videos. I do think settings and configuration could be better laid out. But still a very solid application and product.

So easy

Super easy to use and always on point.

Nice product

I would give it five stars but I some times have to reset. Other then that it is a awesome product.

Glitches with Hulu and Netflix

Glitches with Hulu and Netflix constantly recently and everything updated to current version. Its very frustrating

Chromcast failure

Ive had my chromcast device for a few months and love it! But suddenly about 4 days ago it stopped connecting to Netflix ? so frustrating! Ive tried every trouble shoot possible and listed on the internet. Nothing works. Please please fix this!!

Google home

Great device for our household. Easily picks up our voices and unbelievable response time on answers!

Not bad but needs more

Isnt a bad app we just need more features. My Amazon Alexa is way more smart than google home. Just saying....

Great App

The app proved all necessary functionality for the google home device and does so rather nicely. While there is room for improvement I.e more product connectivity, more learned abilities, the app is well put together and can only get better.

Google home

Great device

Kinda terrible

After living with both, Alexa is just kinda better. Or at least the app is. Having to break out my Nexus 6 to Link account is a pain and google express is terrible. I love Keep.

Frustrated

We used Google Keep for various family lists - groceries, Target, etc. And when we got Google Home it was great because you could add to the main shopping list by voice. Now Google moved it to the Google Home app and the list is not in the main screen, its buried in the hamburger menu. If you have lire than one list, they are also further buried in another hamburger menu. If you want Google Home to be more than a streaming device, it needs to be user friendly. Think of the mom or dad trying to do the family shop with kids. Let people add it their lists to the main screen or just put them back in Google Keep.

Terrific App

What could be better than watching YouTube videos on a HD large screen TV. Not a single hiccup in the delivery of the wireless signal to the TV. Great program and I am trying to find a fault with it but no luck.
