I do not what to give an account to control my google systems.

I just upgraded the app. Although it looks cool, Ive lost functionality. It no longer "talks" to my thermostat. It says the thermostat is not connected, despite it clearly showing connected -- and Ive disconnected and reconnected numerous times. Ive had retrain voice control too. New look.... new bugs....no fun.

After the recent updates, my Chromecasts have gone crazy. My phone will not pick them up. When they are picked up, they will constantly have to “reconnect to network”. I’m not even streaming when this happens, either. Just a photo slideshow. Then the streaming quality is awful as well. Yet no other device in my place has problems on my 30Mb connection. I choose to set the speed of my Google Photos slideshow, yet it will start out fast and then become slow again as well. If Google is so massive and influential, how the heck can they keep screwing up mobile software? I’m typing this on an iPhone because earlier this year I made the switch as my HTC One M8 became worse and worse after each Android update until it was a complete bug ridden mess. Same thing with this Google Home app. It was actually functional 15 months ago when I started using it, when it wasn’t called Google Home, and has gotten progressively worse with each update. Absolutely terrible, and considering Google’s penchant for making things consecutively worse, the Chromecast and Google Home app are probably dead and not coming back. I’ll look to switch to another streaming device where I can slideshow my Google Photos.

One time it forked for 2 months, now all of a sudden none works. Cannot link devices anymore

I don’t know why people say it is not user friendly. It’s pretty simple. Connect, use, close app or leave it alone.

Have to reboot it at least once a day.

This app worked perfectly with Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube up until the last iOS update. Now the cast icon doesn’t appear when you try to stream Hulu. Other than that we love the Chromecast and the app.

Lol! What a joke of an update. Totally trash. Wouldn’t even last 15 minutes in my phone.

If used only for Chromecast. The ability to user-customize the default (startup) page to Devices would be helpful. Mission accomplished! Much better!

I want to know what is on my calendar each day before I start out the door in the morning, to review, but I cannot figure how in the heck to get anything on my phone calendar or to hear Google tell me what’s on my calendar. Even if I verbally repeat my next day to hey google, I cannot see it show up anywhere. I’ll ask Google a question that I could look up on my iPhone and half the the time I’m told I’m still learning about that!! Google Home isn’t very useful for me, yet.

It would be awesome if when using the background feature on android tv that we could make our own photo slideshow as the screensaver and not the very limited selections you offer instead. Why not have cool specific types of locations, or specific themes and holidays? You allow a personally made photo album to be used when casting to a chrome cast device but not when using the cast feature via android tv platform as the screensaver on android tv and its really disappointing. Im sure it would be really easy to do Id love to see these features added. I greatly enjoy using the screensaver while listening to music or reading and hanging out and not watching tv. Updated on 10/5 Still haven’t added the ability to curate our own pictures for the screensaver on android tv platforms. GET IT TOGETHER!!

Takes forever to find my Chromecast devices, once it does it can’t hold to the connection consistently. Whenever I interact with the controls there’s a big delay before anything actually happens.

Please consider VPN configuration in chromchast In my country we could not use chromcast and all channels and Also Youtube is filtered . The only way is VPN . Thank you for your support and understanding !

Chromecast used to be a great device. But now the support for it is terrible. Fails to connect apps, no longer supported, they need to fix it.

My mother in law has MS and this app and the Google Home has changed her life for the better!
