Regarding family schedule and the snooze feature: Bring back showing the time snooze will cut off after snoozing for 30 minutes at a time.

It takes about fifteen minutes to try to figure out how to turn own the thermostadt.

Never consider using this app as it will defy all expectations of convenience not only is it function unhelpful but a huge waste of time and does not help google devices work

Nest is so user-friendly. Made the mistake of buying a second generation nest camera. Now I'm stuck with Google Home app. Try to understand how to curb google's spying on you. Complicated. Deliberately? So you don't know how to stop Google spying?

I’ve had you for years your entire system. Last 2 months I can never pull up my screens and nothing loads. Pathetic I pay thousands for everything from hubs, to cameras, doorbell. You name it. I got it. Pay for the subscriptions and get no use. Fix what you guys broke

The chromecast tv i use never works until after i delete the google home app thousands of times and its getting tiring

In the past few months it has been unstable and live video keeps buffering so it has become useless.

My light bulbs that are controlled through google home are constantly going off line. I woke up one night to every light in the house on as well. Also it will randomly just start speaking responses when not even prompted and I live alone so it’s not another person or google mini in my home.

-App is buggy, erratic, and unreliable. Scrolling through list of devices jumps back and forth. App just isn’t user friendly. -4/11/2025: not user friendly!

Update: Increasing stars thanks to customer support help and fix ——- Namaste. The google home app is frequently telling me "Video Unavailable. Can't Play video right now. Try again later." This seems to be a bug from the last release. It’s amazing that google puts their name on this product. It works SO badly with cameras. It freezes or is unable to load images constantly. It might be because they are best cameras that are ported over but this might just be the buggiest piece of garbage app out there. Worse, no customer support

Go use Ring or Bay Alarm or another device & service set up. Google home has terrible video services. The app crashes while viewing video playback, randomly deletes video history, and is not an intuitive UI. ADT made a terrible decision outsourcing this service to Google. Google has degraded the Nest experience

My house was recently robbed. And these Google cameras did not load whatsoever at all during the event so I had no way to see what was going on, it completely defeated the purpose of me spending over $1000 on Google nest camera for no reason. It’s not my network, it’s not my phone, I have Verizon and my speeds are plenty fast. This is the only thing that gives me an issue, for my home Wi-Fi, I have Xfinity in my speeds are over 2GBPS. This is a serious flaw on Google’s part and it needs to be fixed, I have half of mind to sue.

This app frequently fails to load video and hangs. They are forcing everyone away from the nest app (which pretty much just worked but not as slick looking). With the resources that google has they should be ashamed that this is their best effort.

The app just doesn't work. It will only connect to pre-existing home setups (neighbors, for example) and refuses to identify new devices or provide options aside from the largest pre-existing setup or display available nearby.

Two things I have noticed. Multiple times during the day, I have to force close the app due to it becoming unresponsive when I click the X to end camera feed. Then if I click the three Dots on the right and choose settings, help and feedback. It does not respond. This is being done on an iPhone pro 14 Max

It will not open as soon as I open it. It just closed and won’t let me do anything on it.

Has not gotten any better in the 6 years we’ve had it.

Latest bug is not being able to close out after viewing an activity notification

Every day, I get a notification that someone was at my door. I cannot open the notification, because this app will play back the recording at full volume, even when on silent. This is intentional bad behavior on the part of Google, to make their app worse for iOS. I would give zero stars if possible, this app is made by incompetent developers and incompetent pms who work for a dying company

My current (expensive) equipment was supported well by nest. Google bought Nest and broke all their software. Really a shame, but now I know to never trust Google or ever buy from them again.

There is lag with this app & google nest. It doesn’t catch the entire video footage if it gets activated at the beginning. Also, when launching from notifications it freezes, you can’t pull up history & it wont let you exit without closing out the whole app.

I recently had to switch to Google Home because my new Nest thermostat is not supported by the Nest app. The layout and functionality of Google Home is far inferior to Nest—especially with respect to Nest cameras. On Nest, I could quickly open the app and review what was going on at my home and at my Airbnb. I first noticed this inferiority years ago when I tried to move to Google Home, but I ended up going back to Nest. I’m honestly shocked that the app does not appear to have changed at all since that time in terms of the way it’s laid out—I really thought they’d take a note from Nest and give it a cleaner and more functional appearance. After many years as a Nest customer, I am looking to move to another system with a better interface in my new home.

Not intuitive at all. Next to impossible to find where to do almost anything. I don’t think it was thought out at all, rather just thrown together randomly. This morning I was trying to find where to go to restart my network but gave up. I’ll physically unplug the base unit instead.

Google home is clunky at best and generally difficult to change device location, or WiFi connectivity. For a multi-billion dollar operation the device set up is terrible.

We changed our internet provider, and there’s no way to update the network and password on the cameras. So we can’t access them, they’re completely useless. Ended up having to replace them with Ring cameras, throwing away hundreds of dollars spent on the Google cameras.

There are two things wrong with this service when using it with thermostat with their nest. The first thing is the nest app was way better. Second, I set the temperature to 72° does the air turn on when the temperature is greater than 72? No it does not turn on. I have to open the app and the moment I open the app and look at the thermostat then it turns on. Or I have to just stare at the temperature on the actual device on the wall and then it realizes after about five seconds of me staring at it that it’s supposed to be turning on. I’m sure that Google is doing this on purpose because they have some energy agenda, but I wish they would just stop trying to control my thermostat and just have it turn on when it is greater than the temperature I have set! I’ve seen it go up to 2° higher without turning on. If this doesn’t change, I’m gonna get rid of my nest thermostats throughout my house and switch to another company because this is stupid and ridiculous.

The app is so bad that honestly college interns would do a far more competent job. The less said about the device the better. It continues to be an embarrassment with some bizarre to nonsensical answers. Please hire some competent developers and talented leaders EDIT: Any question asked to the Google Home device is met with a bizzare ‘ Here you go response’ . One’s opinion about the competency of developers just keeps sinking

I’m floored that this app was produced by Google. It seems like the opposite of every Google design philosophy

This app is easily the worst app on my phone. Very frustrating to use. The Google next camera functionality is so awful as to make cameras you own completely worthless.

The app is fine except for one incredibly annoying bug: when you first launch the app, it is 100% unresponsive until the camera feeds load.

The app is so slow and won’t show Me my video feed. What’s the purpose of video if I can’t watch it?

Downloaded this app to try and Chromecast to my TV, but this app is just another way for google to access devices without obvious ways to cast to TVs - save your time and steer clear

Can’t add wifi points. No assistance. App doesn’t help at all and is confusing. Will be throwing Google wifi pods away.

Just bought a new replacement Google Nest cam. Tried adding it to the nest app and it forces you to add it to the Google home which is not nearly as good an interface. So I tried adding it to Google home and it just fails over and over again. SMFH

Video from nest doorbell consistently freezes after a few seconds. App is functionally useless due to this. Inability to use Nest app and have to use this instead is a poor user experience.

DID NOT WORK AT ALL KEPT SAYING “CAMERA DISCONNECTED OR TURNED OFF”. NEVER USING THIS PIECE OF TRASH EVER AGAIN!!! THANKS FOR NOTHING GOOGLE NEST HUB.

Too complicated to remove an old home

Can’t get my chrome cast to do 1 single thing

I can’t connect to my google nest thermostat..While my brother could easily get connected to it..I’m having iphone 12 pro max with the latest ios update..But it still doesn’t work..It just doesn’t want to connect..Keeps bringing an error saying something went wrong..

The app is completely unreliable. Forced to use it for our cameras through ADT. The worst app and cameras I have ever owned. You would be lucky if the app loads and if the cameras work properly. The app always claims the cameras are unreachable, the video playback is never available, the batteries die extremely fast, you are notified 5 min after the fact that there was a notification at your camera, they do not last in cold or hot weather. Do not buy Google cameras or devices where you are forced to use this horrendous app. Save yourself the time, wasted money and sanity.

Why is google reinventing the wheel??? Nest app is far better !!

Updated on 4/2 and now the app crashes and will not open. Worked adequately until the recent update (04/02/2025).

My Wi-Fi network name and password changed and trying to set up my Google home is not intuitive horrible

This app is not intuitive or user friendly at all. Simple functions like trying to connect a supported device to WiFi are nowhere to be found. Do I honestly have to forget the device and start over just to get a Nest connected to a different WiFi network than I originally set it up on?
